Deep-Pocketed Businessman Buys Washington City Paper

Mark Ein, wealthy owner of Kastle Systems, has purchased the Washington City Paper. He is expanding circulation and is making big staffing additions. He just hired Tom Sherwood, veteran political reporter at NBC 4 in Washington. He is concerned about attacks on the press saying, “To some extent, journalists are saving our world.” The Baltimore City Paper folded last year after unsuccessfully trying to find a deep pocketed savior.
